BIRGUNJ, Feb 3: Coordinator of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and Chairman of Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) Mahanta Thakur has remarked resumption of talks as positive.

“Talks have started from the point it was stalled. We are certain that solution can be found through talks,” he said, “However, agitation won’t end unless a meaningful outcome is reached.”

Ending weeks-long deadlock between the major political parties and the agitating Madhesi parties, top leaders from both the sides had held a meeting at Singha Durbar on Monday.

Saying that UDMF will not lift obstruction at border points in status quo he said, “We are yet to decide on form of protest. A meeting within few days will chalk out new protest plan.”

He was of the opinion that border blockade would continue until the government comes up a concrete view to addresses grievances over demarcation of provinces.
