Repeat offender caught for ninth motorcycle theft in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Jan 8: A 23-year-old man from Gaurishankar Rural Municipality–8, Dolakha, who has faced eight previous criminal cases, has been arrested for the ninth time for motorcycle theft.



Police also arrested Govind Thami, 23, from Bigu Rural Municipality–8, Dolakha, in connection with two stolen motorcycles. The pair was apprehended by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

The thefts occurred on Jan 1, when two motorcycles—a Bajaj Pulsar 220 cc (reg. no. Ba. Pra. 02–023 P 6207) from Thapathali and another Pulsar 220 cc (reg. no. Ba. Pra. 02–002 P 0859) from Sinamangal—were reported stolen.


Records show that Abraham Thami has faced multiple cases since 2076 BS, including theft, robbery, and assault. In 2080 BS, he was charged with a vehicle-related homicide case in Dolakha.


Both suspects have been handed over to Kathmandu District Police Office for further investigation.
