Removal of illegal structures in Rupendehi begins

BUTWAL, March 30: Demolition of permanent and temporary structures built by encroaching roads in Rupandehi district has begun.



The Department of Roads has started to use dozers for removing the structures. Road expansion has been started by removing the structures built illegally within the periphery of the road, said the Division Road Office Butwal.[break]



The structures will be removed as they did not comply even after giving frequent notice for the same, the office said.



The office started to demolish structures in 28 kms from Chidiya Khola of Butwal to Belahiya of Nepal-India border.



The works includes making four lane roads from the Highway cross road at Butwal to Sunauli border 25 kms.



Rs. 290 million has been allocated for removal, road expansion and development by removing the construction materials, electricity poles, drinking water pipelines and trees, it said.



Everyone including locals, police and administration has cooperated in removing the encroachment.
