Speaking at a discussion program on current economic situation at his office, the executive head of the country urged ministers and government officials to focus on implementation of the financial and monetary policy. Regmi also underlined the need to create investment friendly environment and enhance government´s credibility, according to a press statement issued his press advisor Bimal Gautam.
“There should be a mechanism to evaluate work performance of secretaries, departmental heads and the project chiefs for making them responsible as well as to address the challenges of the economy,” Regmi said in the program, according to the press statement.
Likewise, Regmi also directed officials concerned to earn foreign currency and reduce trade deficit by promoting exports.
Rabindra Kumar Shakya, vice chairman of National Planning Commission, Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Yubaraj Khatiwada and Finance Secretary Shanta Raj Subedi presented papers during the program.
