POKHARA, Nov 10: Kaski District Police Office (DPO) has intensified search for a real estate dealer who has gone missing since Thursday morning.

According to the DPO, they have deployed Armed Police patrol teams in search of Subedi, who began their search from the Seti river gorges where Subedi was last seen.

Rabindra Poudel, spokesperson of the DPO, said that a team of 12 Armed Police Force (APF) personnel has been deployed in Subedi´s search. The team had yet to get any significant breakthrough by Saturday evening.

Subedi, locally recognized for his exploits in real estate business, was also an employee of Pokhara regional division of Rastriya Banijya Bank. He had also worked as a managing director of Adarsha Nepal Daily, a local newspaper in the past.

Subedi´s sudden disappearance has been linked to deteriorating real estate business along with family disputes. According to a businessman, Subedi was planning to sell his house to pay off his debts. He had recently sold an under-construction petrol pump in Parbat district, informed the businessman.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Subedi had left home leaving behind his car, ring, chain, wallet and his two mobile phones on Thursday morning. He had, reportedly, taken a taxi to the edge of the Seti River.

“After taking the taxi near the land which he had plotted, he told the taxi driver to leave,” said Superintendent of Police (SP) Shailesh Thapa of the DPO.

People close to Subedi said that he had taken huge loans amounting to Rs 50-70 millions from various banks and financial institutions in Pokhara.

Those banks and financial institution were aware about Subedi´s disappearence before the police as they had initiated their private search for Subedi.
