Walking into the tastefully done office one cannot but notice the immaculate desk in the center. Placed atop the table are an IBM Think Pad laptop, a pair of gleaming Mont Blanc pens and two sets of phones -- iPhone 3 and the Blackberry Torch.
“I love my iPhone, and with so many people joining viber, it has become quite handy. But having said that I dig my Blackberry torch equally,” reveals Joshi who can’t decide between the two. She further adds, “I have both NTC and Ncell. The network can get really dicey, you never know.”
For her, technology is a necessity more than luxury. “Life’s become more comfortable because of the latest advancement in technology. It pushes people forward and the evolution of it is a must for the advancement of human as a species,” reasons Joshi who adds that as long as one doesn’t get dependent on technology – it’s all good!
She likes to watch movies to unwind, and it’s her Mac Book Pro to the rescue. “I don’t care about big screen, surround sound, as long as I have my lappy I’m happy,” says Joshi who chirps, “I’m an Apple girl.”
In fact after phones, her laptops are the most abused piece of technology. From office documents, movie marathons to little bits of poetry typing – the magic happens with her fingers deftly flying across the keyboard. Here she stops to make a point, “Again, I don’t want to be totally dependent on technology, I can type but I haven’t forgotten the art of handwriting (smiles). I keep an everyday journal.”

She recently overhauled her home with Samsung products. “Golcha’s are good friends of mine and I took their help in refurbishing my home with the latest technology -- from home theater system to AC – so far so good, satisfied with their performance.”
Technology has made the world of electronic gadgets into a small universe of sorts. Features aside, looks play a major role in the selection process for Joshi, “I’m not trying to sound vain, but like in everything else in life – looks matter, period!” An attractive product not only draws one’s attention but it gives it that cutting edge over others.
Joshi who is a self professed compulsive shopper makes it a point to browse through latest gadgets and trends when she goes abroad. “I don’t mean to sound ostentatious, I think this is the longest I have held on to a car and my phone, iPhone 3,” reveals the banker who can’t wait to get her hands on iPhone 5.
“I love photography. I love to capture moments to cherish later.” Joshi thinks a DSLR Camera, preferably Nikon, has been a long time coming, “Although I’m more than happy with the pictures my iPhone takes, a professional camera is something that I have always wanted, for sure!”
Apart from being a banker, Joshi divulges she’s drawn towards all things esoteric and spiritual, a typical Taurean trait. “I’m a hypnotherapist, rebirther, and have a lot of audio books and meditation materials on my iPod and iPhone.”
A busybody, Joshi surfs the net mostly from her Blackberry; to check emails, to assess the share market and can’t imagine a life without internet.
However she reinstates technology should compliment not rule one’s life, “I do like to have things of comfort around me, but I don’t care if they are not there. When I go home, I just chuck my phone. As it is I’m constantly on the phone, if I don’t disconnect I will probably pop (laughs).”
