The students also hanged a board of University of Agriculture and Forestry after removing the board of Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science under the Tribhuvan University.[break]
According to central member of the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), Niraj Bhatta, the students changed the boards placed at the gate and office of the Institute saying the TU did not agree to handover the ownership to the proposed university.
The students also vandalized the office of the Campus chief and assistant campus chief as well as set the offices on fire.
Meanwhile, student unions have warned of closing the district to protest the arrest of 12 student leaders including Chitwan President of the Nepal Students Union (NSU), Uttam Joshi, Chitwan Chairman of ANNFSU, Keshab Kandel, among others, from the Padmakanya College in Kathmandu.
The student leaders were making preparations to launch agitation demanding postponement of the entrance examination to be taken by the TU today.
Chitwan Secretary of NSU, Parameshwor Khanal, decided to put the district in standstill if the student leaders are not released soon. RSS
