KATHMANDU, July 26: Veteran Rajendra Kapali of Nepal Army Club and Elina Maharjan claimed the men's and women's singles gold in the National Open Table Tennis Tournament held on Saturday in the capital. Rajendra stunned top seed Deep Saun of Nepal Police Club in straight sets 11-9, 11-3, 11-9, 13-11 in the final.
Similarly, Eline edged past her younger sister Erica 15-13, 11-6, 12-10, 10-12, 11-7 during the title decider played at Lainchaur Table Tennis Training Center.
Rasaili, Maharjan win golds in karate
Kapur Sharma edged past Indra Shekhar Khadka to win veteran's above 40 years singles' title. Similarly, veteran's above 50 years singles' title went to Uday Mohan Shrestha who beat Jagadishwar Prasad Joshi.
Hira Nakarmi won women's veteran title defeating Simuju Akiko in the final. Meanwhile, Rahul Yadav won in men's singles final of deaf while Sangita Basnet took women's gold in the same category.
