Their happiness ended when the massive earthquake that struck the nation some two weeks ago turned their house into rubble.
Following the disaster, the five-member family is forced to live in a temporary shelter in the backyard of their own house since the last two weeks.Around two weeks have already elapsed but the family has received only 15 kg of rice as relief material, which has not been sufficient for whole family to live on. Still, they have not lost their hope for government's relief support.
"I had spent all my money earned in Qatar in constructing the house, which is no more," said Badri, pointing at the debris. "We're still awaiting the government's relief support."
Although relief materials have reached to the quake victims in a dozen of affected VDCs, many remain deprived of any kind of support.
At the moment, affected locals are expressing their anger against the government's delayed response. The victims of Sindhupalchowk, the most affected district, are angered at the government indifference to their plight.
According to the victims, NGOs and other social organizations and individuals, too, have rushed with the relief materials to accessible areas only. The victims in accessible locations have received relief materials more than twice but those living in remote areas have not received any.
"In remote areas, only few of the victims have received relief materials," said Yogmaya Paudel, one of the victims.
According to them, political leaders and CA members have not visited their areas m so far.
