Minister Basnet further said that the government would provide grant to the industries suffering damage.
Speaking in a news conference organized by Rupandehi chapter of the Press Chautari Nepal at Butwal today, he said the earthquake has damaged 58 medium scale and 113 small scale industries.
The Industry Minister further said that an arrangement would be made to provide soft loans from banks to industrialists as well as concession on customs in the import of machines and equipments required for the industries.
He said that the new constitution along with naming and delineation of the federal provinces would be promulgated within the third-week of August on consensus.
Minister Basnet said the Ministry has been making preparation to bring the Special Economic Zone into operation by issuing the SEZ Act along with adjustment in the rent. The rent of SEZ determined in the SEZ Guideline is very high.
He further said that the SEZ would be brought into operation soon as initiatives were underway for the adjustment of the rent price.
The Industry Minister also informed that construction works of Motipur Industrial Corridor would be initiated from this fiscal year. The program was presided over by Rupandehi Chairman of the Press Chautari, Amrit Giri. RSS
