Pyo wins Indian Ambassador's Farewell Golf

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Jung Chul Pyo, a diplomat from South Kroean embassy, won the Indian Ambassador´s Farewell Golf tournament at the Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday.



Pyo was tied at 39 stableford points with RK Pradhan after the completion of 18 holes. The tie was broken on the count back, where Pyo beat Pradhan. Pradhan playing of 5 handicaps only played 2 over gross to finish second place.[break]



Rekha Ghimire registered a card of 33 stableford points to emerge as the ladies´ winner in the tournament. Lobsang Tashi won the best gross award. Jung Chul Pyo and Marcus Doublard won the longest drive and closest to the pin award respectively.



Altogether 44 golfors took part in the tournament organized to bid farewell to Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood, who is completing his tenure in Nepal soon. Sood himself gave away the prizes to all the winners.



President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire, Managing Director of Gokarna Forest Resort Ang Tshiring Sherpa and chairman of Gokarna Forest Resort Prem Sachdev presented a token of appreciation to the ambassador.
