The award ceremony aims to felicitate sports personalities on the basis of their performance. The event has been preponed by two months this year. [break]"The award ceremony will be held on July 4 on the occasion of International Sports Journalist Day," said Hemanta Kafle, general secretary of NSJF during the press meet on Sunday, adding, "Though the Sports Journalist Day is on June 2 we are organizing this event two days later."
As on previous occasions, the award ceremony will felicitate sport-persons in eight different categories, including player of the year male and female, youth player, coach, para athlete, lifetime achievement award, special award and popular player of the year.
The winner of the special award, lifetime achievement award and para-athlete award will be disclosed directly during the award ceremony. Five players each will be nominated in other categories.

Pulsar player of the year male and female will be awarded with a Pulsar motorbike apiece. The winners of other categories will be awarded with trophies, cash prize of Rs 30,000, and gift hampers from Hansaraj Hulaschand and Company.
"We are also trying to award popular player of the year with a Pulsar motorbike. However, it is yet to be decided," said NSJF President Niranjan Rajbanshi.
"The nominees for Pulsar popular player of the year will be disclosed soon," states Kafle. The popular player of the year will be chosen through SMS voting.
Pulsar, the automobile brand of Hansraj Hulaschand and Company, signed a five-year sponsorship deal for the award ceremony last year.
The organizers also informed that a main organizing committee under NSJF President Rajbanshi and 12 sub-committees have been formed to conduct the award ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Hansraj Hulaschand and Company Executive Director Shekhar Golchha expressed delight for being able to support the ´path breaking´ event in Nepali sports. "We are very much impressed with the Sports Award. This is the first occasion that our company is giving continuity to sponsorship deal for the fourth consecutive year. I´m hopeful the event gets bigger and bigger every year."
According to Golchha, the sponsorship is worth Rs 1.25 million. As the chief sponsor, Hansraj Hulaschand and Company will provide Rs 600,000 in cash, two Pulsar motorbikes, gift hampers and conduct promotional activities.
