All the appointed officers abandoned their post just hours after Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai inaugurated the center.[break]
The center was established with the aim to provide communal administrative services to the people of 27 VDCs of the district in various sectors like education, technology, land reform, land survey, agriculture, forests, drinking water, sanitation and district development committee as well.
But currently, the center has been providing citizenship related services only as other departments have remained closed.
Complaining government´s lack of concern over the issue, Pramod Santyal of Khunkhani shared experiences of hard time travelling to district headquarter despite the establishment of the center. “"I had hoped that we wouldn´t have to visit the headquarter for our official works but this has not been the case”" said Santyal.
According to Ratnakhar Sharma Chief of the center, only one department of the office is in operation as the remaining 11 others are still without officers.
"No one has been appointed in the vacant posts since the office´s first day of inauguration," said Sharma.“ "The center should start full fledged work soon and we will find solution to this present problem," added Sharma.
Sharma informed that the center´s lack of authority has also brought about this situation.
However, other officers complained that center was set up without adding official post in the beginning. Adding to the claim Baglung Land Revenue Office said that new officers will be reinstated only after the addition of more vacant posts in the center.
