KATHMANDU, April 19: The Federal Alliance, a group of political parties that is unhappy with the constitution, has urged the government to provide indigenous status to the Khas community.

Issuing a 26-point common agenda, the alliance has demanded that the government enlist the Khas community as an indigenous community.

This is the first demand of this type raised by the agitating alliance leaders.

Point II of the common agenda and demands states that, "Khas community also should be included in the indigenous community."

The federal alliance on Monday held a formal interaction, demanding to crate Khashan Province, first time in the capital.

Prem Bahadur Khati, coordinator of the Khasan Rastriya Samyukta Sangharsha Samiti, asked the alliance leaders to visit mountain and hill regions during the program.
