KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Students affiliated with different student unions in Palpa burnt copies of Nagarik daily in protest of the paper´s editorial that questioned the justification of the strike called by them on Wednesday.

They have also warned of burning the copies in coming days if the newspaper does not publish news in support of their protests against the hike in the price of petroleum products.

Student leader Ganesh Basyal said they burnt the copies of the paper as its editorial intended to diffuse the students´ ongoing protests and warned of doing the same to any newspaper that does not support their protests.

The students even took out the prints of the editorial page of the paper from its online edition and burnt them.
