Property worth Rs 70m destroyed in Kalikot flood

KALIKOT: A team of government officials, who had visited Kalikot to access the impact of recent flooding, have put the total property losses at over Rs 70 million.



According to the report prepared by the team, the flooding caused damages worth Rs 2.9 million to schools, Rs 6 million to bridges, Rs 16.5 to electricity lines, Rs 5.5 million to irrigation projects, Rs 2 million to Raskot Mutiple Campus and Rs 4 million to Manma Higher Secondary School. Numerous other schools and drinking water projects have also suffered damages. [break]



The government team returned to the capital after participating in a disaster management and rescue program held at Kalikot District Administration Office (DAO) in Manma, the district headquarters.
