‘Price Transparency Week’ begins nationwide today

KATHMANDU, May 11: The government is launching a nationwide special campaign from today aimed at controlling market irregularities, artificial price hikes and consumer fraud.



The “Price Transparency Week” campaign is being organized through a joint initiative of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

The campaign has been launched to address problems related to rising prices that directly affect the daily lives of ordinary citizens. Officials believe the week-long campaign will serve as a milestone in curbing illegal activities in the market.


All concerned agencies, civil society members and media personnel have also been urged to actively support the campaign and help monitor market irregularities.


The special campaign is scheduled to continue until May 17.
