In an hour long consultation, FM Pun briefed President Yadav on formulation of new budget for next fiscal year. President Yadav advised finance minister to bring the new budget through consensus. [break]
Opposition parties have been protesting the government´s plan to bring new budget through ordinance saying that the caretaker government is not eligible to bring the budget.
In response Pun assured president of seeking consensus and not letting the political situation affecting the economy of the country. "I am committed towards my job and at the time of the political crisis I won´t let my work get affected by it, hampering the economy of the country," Pun reiterated. Adding, "I will urge the leaders of the top parties to at least agree on minimum agendas."
Pun was also of opinion that the budget is not party centric but it’s for the people and the country and all should be cooperative to bring the new budget for the fiscal year. Finance Secretary Krishna Hari Baskota was also present in the meet.
Before meeting minister Pun, President Yadav held consultation with various economists on the budget of the upcoming fiscal year.
Economists Bishwamber Pyakurel, Bimal Koirala, Madan Kumar Dahal, Prithvi Raj Ligal and Shambhu Sran Kayastha reached Sheetal Niwas for the discussions.
