Prez extends deadline till Saturday

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav extended, for a fifth time, the deadline given to political parties to name their commonl prime ministerial candidate till December 29, on Monday.



The president extended the deadline after holding a discussion with leaders of the political parties represented in the dissolved Constituent Assembly, at Shital Niwas, this afternoon. The earlier deadline had expired last Saturday. [break]



The president is embarking on a five-day formal visit to India later today. He is scheduled to return home on Friday.
