President Yadav had reached Waling in Syangja district on Friday to inaugurate a branch of Patanjali Yoga Peeth built by yoga guru Ram Dev.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Yadav also requested everyone to save the country´s tradition and religion. “Nepal is a secular country now. Religion teaches us discipline and respect for others, and Hindu religion can take along all other religions.” He said that the country will move forward by preserving the rich Nepali culture.
Along with Ram Dev, Acharya Balkrishna, disciple of the yoga guru, was also present. Waling is Balkrishna´s home town.

He also said that there is a need to exploit the country´s rich natural resources, including Ayurvedic medicines.
Maoists mistake Ram Dev for president, show black flags
Meanwhile, UCPN (Maoist) cadres waved black flags at Ram Dev as they mistook his vehicle for that of the president. They even shouted anti-government slogans.
The president was scheduled to arrive at 8.30 am to attend the function. But around 8 am two Nepal Army helicopters landed at the Armed Police Force barracks near Waling Bazar. After 15 minutes Ram Dev accompanied by heavy security personnel entered the bazar in a black car.
The president arrived half an hour later in a white Puma helicopter. The Maoists showed him black flags and shouted slogans to demanding correction of his ´unconstitutional move´ reinstating the then army chief.
