Nepal is rich in water resources, birthplace of Lord Buddha, country of Pashupatinath and Janaki and land of Gorkhali but still Nepal could not become prosperous country and Nepalis remain poor simply because there is no political stability, the president said.

He also praised Mahato for constructing the hospital and said, "Upendra Mahato´s social service work in Nepal is the mainfestation of his love for the nation. This work should be emulated by all."

The hospital built at the cost of Rs 180 million sprawls over one-and-a-half bigha of land located two kilometers to the south of Bastipur of the East-West highway. The 25-bed hospital will be a model and one of the best hospitals in the region, claimed Juli Mahato, treasurer of Ful Kumari Memorial Trust. Juli is Upendra´s sister.

The hospital has a modern lab, x-ray, ultrasound, operation theater and ventilator among others facilities, according to the hospital administration.

The hospital administration informed that people from Siraha, Saptari, Udayapur, Okhaldhunga and bordering Indian areas will be directly benefitted by the hospital.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, President of the Fulkumari Memorial Trust Upendra Mahato said the hospital was built to provide timely services to local people.

"I built this hospital because I don´t want people to go through the same pain I went through when my mother died an untimely death," Yadav said.

He added that he wants to make Karjanha, his birthplace, a model village.
