According to Rupandehi Police, the explosive materials with petrol and diesel wrapped in a robber tire blasted on a bridge over Ghangra Rivulet nearby the airport at 2.30 this morning.The noise emanated from the explosion was heard far and wide, locals said. Locals have been fearful after the blast.
Rupandehi Police Chief DSP Buddhi Raj Gurung said that the incident might be deliberate act to unleash terror and fear among the people however who occurred this incident for what reason is yet to be ascertained.
No human and physical loss was reported in the incident though the explosion was high-sounding, police said.
A squad of Nepal Army and Nepal Police had reached the site immediately after the detonation. The situation here has now turned to be normal now, police added. Earlier too, a bomb was detonated nearby Ghagra Rivulet in Bhairahawa.
