The blackout started after strong winds knocked down electricity poles. The blackout has almost halted the use of electric appliances, including cell phones.
Chutan Kumar Srivastav, chief of Nepal Electricity Authority´s Bardiya office, said repair work is underway and power supply should resume in a few days.
