In this meeting with PM Nepal at Baluwatar, has urged the latter to support him in the prime ministerial race. Poudel sought Nepal´s help to elect him unanimously as a new prime minister and give continuity to the current democratic alliance.
Poudel told him that it is appropriate and practical idea to choose a new prime minister from the second largest party in the parliament as the largest party UCPN (Maoist) and third largest party CPN-UML have already led the government.
Reminding him that his party always supported the UML-led government, Poudel urged Nepal to back him for the sake of peace process, statute-drafting, political stability and prosperity.
In response, the prime minister said that UML´s central committee meeting will take a decision on the selection of a new prime minister today.
NC General Secretary Bimalendra Nidhi and central member Krishna Situala and UML leaders KP Oli, Ishwor Pokharel, Bishnu Poudel and a few others were present in the meeting.
Similarly, during a meeting at NC Parliamentary Party office between Poudel and Mainali, the CPN (ML) chief said efforts should be made to form a consensus government till the last moment. He said the current 22-party alliance should be kept intact if the consensus government is not possible.
Poudel urged Mainali to support his party to complete the peace process and constitution-drafting. After the meeting, Poudel said that the talks were positive.
