Koirala´s statement comes at a time when Senior NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and Poudel both have been staking claim to leadership in the consensus government.[break]
“If we are to follow the party´s statue, parliamentary party leader should be the prime minister,” he said, adding, “As to Deuba´s claim, we will hold further discussions."
Koirala also said the government led by Baburam Bhattarai cannot be turned into a consensus government.
He also stressed that consensus government should be formed only after concluding the peace process.
