Police rule out theft at Balen’s residence

Police said no theft or looting occurred at RSP senior leader Balendra Shah’s residence, despite the iron-grilled main gate being found broken during an inspection.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Police have said there is no evidence of theft or looting at the residence of Senior Leader of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Balendra Shah (Balen), despite damage found at the main entrance.



According to DSP Kaushal Budhathoki of the Kathmandu Police Range, an inspection of the house confirmed that no valuables were stolen. While the iron-grilled main gate was found broken, police said there were no signs of burglary or vandalism inside the premises.

“During the inspection, we did not find any indication of theft,” Budhathoki told Republica. “The iron grill was damaged, but there is no evidence suggesting a break-in or looting.”


Police said further investigation is ongoing to determine how the gate was damaged.
