Police registered 25-11, 25-7, 25-10 over Mid-western Volleyball Club at the covered hall of Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwar. On Saturday Police had defeated Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center (JVTC) in straight sets as well.[break]
In another match, New Diamond edged past JVTC 25-10, 25-14, 25-9. On Saturday, New Diamond had overcome Mid-western Volleyball Club in three sets as well.
Both Police and New Diamond from group A made it to the semifinal with a match in hand. The winner of the match between Police and New Diamond will top the group. Similarly, JVTC and Mid-western have crashed out of the tournament.
Meanwhile, another departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) also started on a winning note in women´s volleyball. APF thumped Eastern Regional Volleyball Club 25-5, 25-4, 25-3 in group B match.
In men´s section Western Regional Volleyball Training Center (WRVTC), Nepal Army Club and APF emerged victorious. WRVTC toiled hard to beat University Sports Association 23-25, 25-19, 17-25, 25-23, 15-11. Army thrashed Sindhu Youth Club 25-8, 25-9, 25-8 and APF edged past Mid-western Volleyball Club 25-9, 25-15, 25-18.
