Police intervene pro-Tibet gathering

KATHMANDU, March 10: At least 15 pro-Tibet protesters were injured and four were taken into custody as police intervened a protest program marking the Tibetan Uprising Day at the Boudha Monastery, Kathmandu on Thursday.



The protestors were shouting pro-Tibet slogans when the police intervened to disperse the mass.



Pro-Tibetans mark March 10 as the Tibetan Uprising Day in remembrance of the of the day a revolt erupted in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet in 1959. Tibetans in exile claim that Chinese forces killed 87,000 during the revolt.
