Men´s team of the departmental giant overcame G Four Sports Club of Dolakha in straight sets. Police took the sets 25-18, 25-22, 25-14. [break]Similarly, women´s team recorded a comfortable win over Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center in straight sets 25-18, 25-22, 25-14.
In another match of women´s section, New Diamond School of Kathmandu started with a comfortable win. New Diamond edged past Mid-western Volleyball Club 25-13, 25-9, 25-10.
Meanwhile, Bhaktapur Youth Circle was forced to play four set by Mid-western Volleyball Club for victory in the men´s section. Bhaktapur on course of straight victory lost the third set 25-27 after winning first two sets 25-15, 28-26. Bhaktapur won the fourth set 25-21 to seal the victory.
The tournament being held in the league cum knockout basis features 12 teams in men´s and seven teams in women´s section. The top three teams of both categories will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 100,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.
The best player of the tournament will be given Rs 10,000. Nepal Volleyball Association is the tournament organizer.
