KATHMANDU, May 7: Police have arrested 15 individuals from various parts of the country on charges of possessing and trafficking illegal drugs during routine patrol operations.
According to the Central Police News Desk, the arrests were made from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Rupandehi, Siraha, Chitwan, Nawalparasi East, Kailali, Sunsari, and Surkhet districts.
Five held for trafficking controlled narcotics drug
Authorities said the suspects were found in possession of a range of controlled pharmaceutical drugs that can only be sold with a doctor’s prescription, including Norphin, Phenergan, Spaspen, Tramadol, IPPL, and Diazepam. Police also recovered illegal substances such as brown heroin and cannabis.
The arrests are part of ongoing intensified surveillance and enforcement actions against drug-related offenses across the country.
