BANKE, April 6: A family has accused the police of letting the murderers of 22-year-old Chhanda Bikram Malla go scot free.

“The police didn´t even register our complaint,” father Resham Dev said at a press conference in Nepalgunj on Tuesday. “Instead of arresting the murderers, police took bribe from them and now they are threatening us to leave village,” Malla´s mother Dhansara said.

Chhanda was abducted on September 6 and subsequently murdered. His family is living in fear after the murderers issued threat to them to leave Puraina-2, Naharpuruwa.

“We have concrete evidence that five persons killed our son and police took Rs 300,000 from each of them to protect them,” Dhansara claimed.
