A team of civil servants led by Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers is all set to climb the Mount Everest from April 7.[break]
Aimed at climbing the Everest within two months, the team will hoist the national flag, a flag carrying the logo of civil servants, and the flags of Nepal´s professionals´ association and World Trade Union Federation on top of the world´s highest mountain.
The expedition includes 15 civil servants including Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Laxman Bhattarai, Joint Secretary at Foreign Ministry Durga Bhattarai, Padma Bhandari of the Ministry of Education, Subir Shrestha of the Ministry of General Administration, Tulsi Bhandari of the Ministry of Information and Communications.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Khanal wished success to the mountaineering team. He expressed confidence that the success of the mountaineering campaign will prove that the Nepali people are brave and bold enough to face all sorts of challenges.
Moreover, he said is ample potentiality of boosting up people´s lifestyle with the improved economy through the tourism industry.
Also speaking on the occasion, Defense Minister Bishnu Bhandari and Chief Secretary Madhav Prasad Ghimire expressed confidence that campaign of the civil servants to climb up the Everest will reach the civil service to new height.
