PM issues new postal stamp

KATHMANDU, Dec. 24: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai today affixed the first cancellation mark on a commemorative postage stamp issued by the Department of Postal Services marking the International Cooperatives Day 2012.



Artist at the Department, Mohan Narsingh Rana had prepared the sample of the postage stamp. The postage stamp is of Rs. 20 denomination. The stamp has the image that shows a man and a woman talking about cooperatives.



The government had marked 2012 as the Year of the Cooperatives in line with the decision of the 64th General Assembly of the United Nations to mark 2012 as the International Year of the Cooperatives around the slogan – Building a Prosperous World through Cooperatives Business.



On the occasion, Prime Minister Bhattarai launched a book titled ´Enterprises, Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship´ authored by Surya Ratna Shakya.
