PM consults security agency chiefs

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal held consultations with the chiefs of the three security agencies on the issues facing the country in the UN peacekeeping missions.



In an hour-long briefing, the chiefs are said to have raised Nepal´s concern in logistic support, budget allocation, training and other problems, Bishnu Rijal, the prime minister´s press advisor said.



The prime minister has assured the security chiefs that he will raise the concerns at the UN-peacekeeping contributing countries´ meeting called by US President Barrack Obama on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The consultation was also attended by representatives of home and defense ministers.



Earlier on Saturday, the prime minister also held separate meeting with the NA chief Chhatraman Singh Gurung. Rijal said that it was a "routine" meeting for briefing the PM about NA´s activities.
