PM an email away

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: If you want to give feedback to Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and his government or bring your concerns to his attention, just shoot an email.



The prime minister on Monday made public his private email address via the Facebook page of his personal aide Bishwadeep Pandey to connect himself with the people and solicit their feedback. [break]



Bhattarai´s personal aide Pandey told Republica that the email address is bhattaraibaburam@gmail.com.



"He himself checks the emails, time permitting, "Pandey said, adding, "Otherwise, we will check the emails and inform him and the emails will be replied."



On the first day, the prime minister received 45 emails and the prime minister acted on the concerns raised by people in the emails. For instance, he directed the home ministry to immediately depute a superintendent of police (DSP) in Biratnagar.



In the email, according to Pandey, the sender informed the prime minister that the previous DSP has been called to Kathmandu for security of the prime minister and his absence has caused law and order problem in Biratnagar.



Pandey said the prime minister is planning to address the nation before leaving for New York next week to participate in the UN General Assembly.



"He plans to include people´s feedback in his address to the nation," Pandey further said.
