Plight of journalists

GAUR, April 20: Acting Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office, Rautahat, Gajendra Kumar Thakur said journalists are the mirror of any society and they can be trusted only when they publish and disseminate accurate and factual news.



At an interaction program organized by the Nepal Press Council in collaboration with the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Rautahat chapter on ‘Professional journalism and code of conduct’, he said all sections of society are feeling insecure with prevalence of no effective law and order caused by transitional prolonging in the country. FNJ Chairperson Dharmendra Jha said journalists have been subject to victimization due to wrong tendency that journalists are good when they cover positive news about political parties and administration and bad when they opt to expose their wrongdoings among public.
