But her sudden passing away sure did send shockwaves through the music world. Her tumultuous 27 years have become yet another cautionary tale of drugs, fame and life gone awry too soon, much like the other “Forever 27” performers.[break]
And now that she’s gone, let us remember her as she was at her best – an amazing singer who won’t be forgotten.

And off to revealing the latest from the music world, here’s picking the best from the pack of new releases.
Travie McCoy enjoyed a successful solo ride through his album “Lazarus.” But don’t worry; he’s still making good music as the frontman of Gym Class Heroes.
It’s good news for the fans of the alt-hip hop group as they return with their 5th record titled “The Papercut Chronicles II.” The upcoming set is led by the single “Stereo Hearts” featuring Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, and the collaboration is all about its beautiful lyrics.

Trust me, a love song can’t get any more creative than this; a double thumbs-up from my side. And if it’s supposed to tell what the whole album is going to be like, then you don’t need to search for further reviews.
Lenny Kravitz makes a comeback this year! He’s currently putting the finishing touches on his 9th studio album “Black And White” and it feels great to see he still has his rock on. Its first single “Stand” clearly testifies to the statement.
The set is scheduled to be out in August; and if it helps to make it sound more exotic, then it was recorded in Bahamas and Paris.
You’ve heard of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” and all the buzz surrounding it. Now it’s time for you to check out its parody – “Perform This Way” that’s sure to have everyone buzzing. And whose name pops up when it comes to the spoof of songs? Mr. Weird Al Yankovic! Taken off his cleverly titled new album “Alpocalypse,” the single talks about Gaga herself, and its video has already become a huge Youtube hit.
As always, Yankovic has succeeded in impressing us with his witty and humorous wordplay, and even the Poker Face hit maker has liked his work. It’s a must-listen-to number for a good LOL time.
Chris Brown infuriated Justin Bieber with his tardiness during one of the recording sessions for the single, “Next To You.” And despite the uneasiness that followed between the singers inside the studio, Brown revealed that the finished material had come out very well.
I didn’t want to believe him until I heard the track myself! The collaboration emerges as a very powerful ballad with beautiful lyrics, and also has an apocalyptic theme like we’ve heard in a couple of recent releases. Both the heartthrobs have given their best effort, vocally.
The song, featured in the Yeah 3x hitmaker’s F.A.M.E. album, is even likely to change minds of JB and Chris Brown haters. However, Brown sampling the chorus part of Rihanna’s “What’s My Name” at the end sounds a bit creepy.
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera currently make up a part of the panel of judges on another set of US singing competition – The Voice. And amidst their job of judging the participants, the duo has also taken time out to record a track together.
The single is called “Moves Like Jagger.” Funky Levine starts off the song as an easygoing R&B-inflected Pop tune before Aguilera shows up near the end to kick it all into high gear with her brassy supercharged voice.
And the rocker’s chill vibe acts as the perfect counterbalance to the diva’s fiery intensity. “Moves Like Jagger” can be found in the deluxe edition of the band’s “Hands All Over” album.
311, a rock outfit with a hint of reggae music, returns to the scene with a new single as the lead from their recently dropped 10th album, “Universal Pulse.” Entitled “Sunset In July,” lead singer Nick Hexum says it’s a song about what the group loves doing the most: playing live and watching fans dancing in the aisles and having the time of their lives.
There’s no bigger inspiration. And the very spirit is evident in the single. “Sunset In July” is no disappointment and is highly recommended to alternative rock lovers.
After earning immense popularity with her worldwide smash hit “Pyramid,” the Filipino singing sensation Charice returns to the scene with “Louder,” one of her three songs to be released in a two-month period.
One of the rare internationally successful young talents to have emerged from Asia, Charice sounds equally promising in her latest single as much as she did in her debut effort. “Louder” is a very positive tune and acts as an impeccable confidence booster for the youngsters of these days.
The hip hop project of Royce da 5’9” and Eminem, Bad Meets Evil, seems to be doing very well on the airwaves as well as on various charts.
“Hell: The Sequel” is their debut album which has “Lighters” for their second single. The fact that it features Bruno Mars is more than enough to appeal to the mass.
A favorite of many, Mars makes the chorus sound amazing amidst the words of such a hardcore rap. No wonder he’s one of the most frequent featured artists.
