Peace ministry demands additional Rs 550m

KATHAMANDU, March 4: The Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction (MoPR) has demanded an additional Rs 550 million for distribution of relief to the families affected by Maoist insurgency and other movements.



Speaking at a meeting of Public Account Committee (PAC) on Sunday, MoPR Secretary Dhruba Prasad Sharma said that the money was required as the government has recently decided to provide an additional Rs 100,000 to each of the affected families. He informed that the ministry has already provided Rs 200,000 to each of the affected families. [break]



Sharma said the additional relief would be distributed among 10,000 affected families. Peace Minister Satya Pahadi said the ministry has been providing relief to the affected families as per decision taken by the Special Committee
