Similarly, Chakra Bahadur Chand, returning from Lucknow, has been stuck here for four days. He had gone to Lucknow for treatment and was returning only with limited money to cover transportation. “I have not eaten anything since four days because I had not saved extra money,” said Chand. Hungry as he is, Chand cannot walk to his destination.
Same is the case of Deepak B.K. of Salena, Doti. With his two children and wife, B.K has been sleeping out in the open in the bus park. There are hundreds of other passengers, including women and children, who face similar fate and are despairingly sleeping in the bus park.
On Monday evening, the stranded passengers protested against the strike. They rallied to District Administration Office and met Chief District Officer to air their grievances.
Stranded passenger Ram Shikhar Jhala told CDO Kailash Kumar Bajimaya, “Either you manage food and shelter or solve the problem so that we can travel on to our destination.”
In rely Bajimaya told the irate passengers that political parties and other organizations were negotiating to call off the strike.
All the vehicular movement on short and long route have come to a complete halt across the region.
