Dahal in his document has proposed to adopt a model of leadership centered on chairman and to demote office bearers, which means except for party chairman, all the office bearers and top leaders have now been reduced to just central committee members. [break]
In line with the proposal, the meeting being held at Khanna Garments in Lalitpur endorsed the resignation of Vice-Chairman Narayankaji Shrestha as vice-chairman and Post Bahadur Bogati as general secretary. The meeting has, however, urged Vice-Chairman Baburam Bhattarai to withdraw his resignation from the post. Most of the CC members aired their views stressing that the time has not come yet for Bhattarai to relinquish his post.
At today’s session, Dahal called on all party leaders and cadres to concentrate on the upcoming Constituent Assembly elections so that the party secures a two-thirds majority. The meeting which will conclude today will also divide works among the CC members. Sources say each CC member will be deployed for a month to constituencies for election campaigning across the country.
