Parbat village in grip of viral fever

PHALEBAS, Parbat, Aug 24: A village in Parbat district has been gripped by the viral fever with the change in weather conditions.



The entire Barrachaur Village Development Committee has been affected by an epidemic outbreak of viral fever for the past few days. [break]



The disease that was detected in some of the students at the Janasewa Primary Secondary School based in Ward No.-1, Patal, later spread in the entire village.



As many as 172 people have fallen sick due to the viral epidemic. The school has been closed for five days after the number of students and teachers suffering from the fever soared, said school Principal Eknarayan Parajuli.



Symptoms like dizziness, headache, vomiting and fever have been seen on the affected.Students have complained of such symptoms since last Tuesday, he said.



Similarly, students at the Aambari Secondary School located at Ward No.- 6 in the village have also suffered the symptoms of viral fever. It is learnt that some 15 new patients of viral fever are found in a day.



However, Dr Sagar Raj Bhandari of the District Hospital, Parbat has urged the people not to panic since it is a seasonal fever. He advised the people to drink only purified or boiled water, not to eat stale food and consume plenty of liquid. The patients are deprived of treatment for lack of doctors during the outbreak of epidemic.
