Pace Youth organizes youth pressure on constitution-writing

KATHMANDU, Sept 24: Pune chapter of Pace Youth, an international organization for social mobilization, organized a youth pressure campaign for the timely drafting of the constitution of federal republic of Nepal on September 20 at the BM College in Pune. The Nepali students in Pune and the outskirts gathered together along with members of their Nepal counterpart Nationwide Youth Pressure Campaign for Constitution-making to highlight the issues of political consensus and constitution drafting. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Major Ram Shrestha, a scholar from the Nepalese Army currently pursuing further studies at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. Raju Gorkha, Administration officer IUCAA Pune and Deepak Poudyel, an economics Professor at the BM College also talked about the urgency of constitution-writing. Around 100 students attended the programme held at the Tata Hall at BM College in Pune.



The program was organized to create “continuous moral pressure to implement Comprehensive Peace Accord and look for political consensus and write the new constitution within the stipulated timeframe.”



A film depicting the rich natural beauty and cultural heritage of Nepal was showcased as the members participated exuberantly in the interaction program. PACE YOUTH Pune chapter said they will be active in the coming days in organizing multifarious programs involving interaction amongst the Nepalese youths in Pune.
