“The doctors returned to duty after 10 am and normalcy has returned,” TUTH Director Dr Keshav Prasad Sinsgh said. According to medical records department of the hospital, 570 patients availed OPD service in the morning, around 150 got evening paid services, more than 70 got emergency services and around 30 patients were admitted for in-house treatment.
Services at the hospital had been affected since March 15 as it decided to stop admitting patients while even the emergency services were halted since March 23.
The doctors returned to duty after the Education Ministry formed a five-member committee on Wednesday to investigate all kind of irregularities at the Institute of Medicine (IOM) since the last academic year.
The committee formed under former education secretary Jayaram Giri, and also including senior TUTH professors Dr Mahesh Prasad Khakurel and Dr Prakash Sundar Shrestha, has been asked to submit its report within 15 days.
