Bus conductor Mukesh Karki, 24, an inhabitant of Rajbiraj-4 of Saptari district, died on the spot while seven others were injured in the incident. Among the injured Chet Narayan Yadav, Narayan Singh Chaudhary and Maha Laxmi Pokhrel of Katuwa-1,Saptari sustained critical injuries and four others have common injuries, informed Area Police Office, Bardibas.
The accident occurred after the bus (Na 3 Kha 5555) fell down from the road along the East-West Highway at Huteshwarnath of Maisthan-8 in Mahottari district. It is learnt that the accident occurred when the bus driver fell asleep on his way to Saptari from Kathmandu.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Bardibas Sub-health Post, police said.
