JANAKPURDHARM, Dec 27: An accident occurred on Saturday morning at Jyoti Distillery in Kathariya Municipality-9, Rautahat district. A boiler at the distillery exploded, killing one person on the spot and injuring five workers.
Preliminary reports suggest the explosion was extremely powerful, causing damage to the distillery premises. Some of the injured are in serious condition, and the critically injured are being transferred to Birgunj for further treatment.

Dharmendra Paudel, Assistant Inspector of Police (ASI) at the Area Police Office, Kathariya, said he has reached the site and that a detailed investigation is underway. The identities of the deceased and injured, as well as the cause of the incident, are yet to be confirmed.
The incident has caused panic among residents, and security forces have tightened control over the area to prevent further damage. More details are expected to follow.
