KATHMANDU, March 5: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has claimed that UML will form a majority government following the elections.
Speaking to reporters after casting his vote at Mahendra Shanti Secondary School in Balkot, Suryabinayak Municipality–2, Bhaktapur, Oli said the party is expected to secure a clear majority. Even if the party does not get a full majority, he asserted, UML will remain the largest party.
Oli says UML ready for polls, expresses confidence of majority...
“I am confident that a UML-led government will be formed. Even if the majority does not come, UML will be the principal party,” he said.
When asked who would be the next prime minister, Oli confirmed that it will be him. “My party has chosen me as prime minister. When my party decides, the country follows. There is no doubt about this,” he added.
Oli also criticized the ongoing debate about “new” versus “old” parties, calling it against the nation’s interest. He accused elements with no contribution of spreading politics of hatred and revenge.
“Unnecessary rumors and attempts to mislead voters are ongoing. Self-interested elements with no contribution are trying to destabilize the country through politics of hatred and revenge,” he said.
