KATHMANDU, March 31: National Women’s Commission on Wednesday made public a report into the rape case in a police post in Janakpur.

In the report, the commission has urged the government to probe into the case and bring the facts out.

The commission pointed out the flaws in the arrest and subsequent handling of a woman reportedly raped by a police.

The commission said lack of any woman police for the body search of the arrested woman, keeping her in the room next to the police post chief Baburam Jha, keeping her room’s key by Jha and the screaming of the woman in the night hint at the post’s chief’s involvement.

The commission also asked the government to create women-friendly environment at police posts.
