Number of tigers in Nepal reaches 155

KATHMANDU, July 29: A government study team announced on Thursday that the number of adult tigers across the country has reached 155.



"Of the total, 121 tigers were found in National Park Area in Chitwan alone," said the report, which was made public at a press meet in Kathmandu.



The number of tigers during 2008-2009 was 121. Similarly the number of big cats in Chitwan increased from 91 to 121.



The study was carried out by the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation along with the National Trust for Nature Conservation and WWF Nepal.
