KATHMANDU, April 24: Nepal Republic Media (NRM) Pvt Ltd on Friday announced plans to launch a television channel and two more magazines within this year.
Speaking at a function organized to mark its sixth anniversary in JDA Complex, Sundhara, Binod Raj Gyawali, managing director of the medica house, announced that the organization is planning to launch a television channel and two more magazines within this year.

"We are working to launch a new television channel and we aim to go on-air within this year," he said, adding, the organization is planning to publish two magazines --- social on social issues and the other business -- in near future.
On the occasion, NRM also awarded six employees -- three journalists and three other staffers. Managing Director Gyawali gave away 'star performer' awards to senior correspondent of Nagarik Daily, it's sister newspaper, Surendra Paudel, correspondent of Republica Daily Arjun Paudel and Surkhet-based correspondent Kalendra Sejuwal.
Likewise, Deputy Manager of the Marketing Department of the company Pratish Sapkota and Tejendra Dahal of Biratnagar Regional Office and Distributor Gokul Sapkota were also awarded. The recipients of the award will receive additional Rs 5,000 each month on their salaries for one year as a reward for their performance.
He said that the company decided to award its best performing staffers as it would encourage all the staffers to perform even better.
Similarly, the company also made its 34 staffs permanent on the occasion. 11 journalists from Nagarik daily, four from Republica, two from online service of NRM, and remaining 17 other staffs from various other sections were made permanent on the occasion.
On Thursday, NRM had organized a free health camp and blood donation program to mark six years of the company's establishment. Over 160 persons, including media persons, got their health examined and a total of 23 staffers of NRM donated their blood on the occasion.
