KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Disgruntled Maoist leader Matrika Yadav has said that he remained the only leader of the "Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist)" after all the Maoist leaders led by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal decided to unify the party with CPN (Unity Center-Masal) earlier this month.

According to Ujyaalo FM, he suggested the armed groups operating in the Tarai region to choose the path of "people´s war for the liberation of the Madhes". Yadav, who became minister representing the then CPN (Maoist) party in the previous governments, said that he would not join the newly-formed Unified CPN (Maoist) party. [break]

"I am not with the party. All the 34 Maoist leaders left me alone to join the new party instead," he said, claiming that majority leaders deserted the original party to form Unified CPN-Maoist.
